Washing
Start by washing less. Airing a jersey between rides and sponging the odd mark off with mild soap does more for its life than a hot cycle ever will. Machine washing is wear, and every cycle costs you a little of the fabric.
When it is time, wipe off the heavy dirt first so it never reaches the drum. Separate by colour and material so you can set the temperature to the fabric rather than the load.
Skip the fabric softener. It leaves a film that stops the fabric wicking, which is the whole reason you bought it.
Zip everything closed before it goes in. An open zip finds every mesh panel in the drum. Turn garments with reflective detail inside out.
Drying
Do not tumble dry. Dryers use a great deal of energy, shrink technical fabric and break down elastane over time. Hang kit somewhere with moving air, out of direct sun.
- Reshape bib shorts by the pad before hanging, not by the straps.
- Dry jerseys flat if the fabric is very light.
- Never dry on a radiator. Heat is what kills stretch.
Storage
Store dry and store loose. Compressing technical fabric for months at a time sets creases into panels that were shaped to sit flat against you.
Care by garment
Every garment carries its own label, and the label wins. This is the general rule where the label has worn off.

Repairs
Crashes happen. Send us photos of the damage with your receipt and we will either repair the garment or give you 30% off a replacement.
What we can repair
Tears, seam failures and zip replacements on full-priced garments. Fair wear and tear is not covered, and the age of the kit is taken into account.
What we need from you
Proof of purchase, a receipt or order confirmation, and clear photos of the damage. Email crash@label-collective.com.
End of life
When a garment is finished, send it back. We repair and donate where we can, and recycle the rest so it stays out of landfill.
